Our History

What Would this County Be without
this Great Land of Ours

In 1986, Jane Arther began The Illinois Land Sales Bulletin, collecting and reporting land sales data on 20 acres or greater in Illinois. As an Ag Realtor, Jane used the bulletin as a marketing tool. With her pending retirement in late 1999, she placed her business for sale.

As a broker/realtor and his foot in the door as a farmer, Evan Lemenager saw the value in the data and purchased it in 2000.

Evan, along with one other employee, began improving the quality of the data being reported. They expanded the number of counties from 65 to 95 and added soil productivity ratings for each sale.

In 2010, Evan proposed to his wife, Vicki, and they began the oversight of growing the bulletin together. Living in Wisconsin, it was only fitting that they started reporting their home state’s data and changed the name to Land Sales Bulletin.

Vicki began the work of expanding into our current 8 Midwest States (new states coming!) and added the application program interface (API).
